Individual Behavior System

Students will be using a behavior system in which they are able to move their name card up or down, depending on behavior. For easy memory, it goes in the order of the rainbow!

Purple: Excellent choices! The student has been a role model for peers. Students who move their color up to purple will be rewarded by earning a "jewel" to place on their name card, as well as a Cougar Gram to take home for parents to see!

Blue: Good Choices! Students who earn their way up to blue have made decisions that have been above that of an average peer.

Green: Students start their day on green, which means they are "Ready To Learn."

They have made choices that set them up to be successful in class (prepared, listening, materials not lost, etc.)

Yellow: Yellow serves as a warning. Yellow earns no consequence, as all people make mistakes! It is simply a reminder that a student needs to make a better effort to do his or her best!

Orange: Loss of priviledge: often a recess, an apology letter, or even a phone call home depending on the behavior.

Red: All consequences listed for orange, an "oops" slip, plus a possible visit to the office, or referral, depending on the behavior.

The reason that I love this system is because it doesn't just punish students for negative behavior, but rather it gives them an opportunity to reward positive behavior as well! Students can always move up, or down. This means, if a student gets a warning, moves down to yellow, and then begins making better choices, they can move back up to green!
